Two reasons for a challenge

In March, 2017 I will be tackling the Peaks Challenge in Falls Creek, to raise awareness and money for Cystic Fibrosis Victoria. I am aiming to raise $1,000 in online donations.
The two reasons for a challenge
The Peaks Challenge is ranked among the most difficult single day bike rides anywhere in the world (see the video below). Covering 235km, 4,000m+ of climbing, in a 13hr time limit, the challenge is comparable to a European Grand Fondo or an alpine stage of the Tour de France.
So why would a ‘slightly’ out of shape guy on the wrong side of 30 do such a thing? The two reasons are in the photo above. The reason on the left (the one laughing at her own joke) is Willow, my daughter. I want to set an example for Willow, showing her what can be achieved with hard work and determination. The reason on the right (the one with the cheeky grin) is Maya, Willow’s good friend. Maya was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) shortly after birth in 2014. I want to help raise funds to find a cure for CF so these two dorks can grow old together.
So help me raise funds by donating, all donations go directly to Cystic Fibrosis Victoria and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF)
CF is the most common, recessive genetically acquired, chronic illness affecting young Australians today.
It primarily affects the lungs and the digestive system, however, it also affects a number of other organs and systems. Complications increase with age, requiring ever increasing levels of (self) care and support. From birth, a person with CF undergoes constant medical treatments and physiotherapy. Lung failure is the major cause of death for someone with CF.
CF is life shortening and there is currently no cure.

Cystic Fibrosis Victoria
Cystic Fibrosis Victoria (CFV) is the peak community not-for-profit organisation working with and for people with CF right across the state. Its mission is to assist everyone affected by CF to be well and live fuller lives. It provides information, support and guidance to people living with CF and their families. It advocates for services and systems that support the CF community and seeks to raise awareness, understanding and funds for services and research. Over 80% of CFV income is from fundraising.
CFV is currently looking to fund research programs, one of which is aiming to seek a cure for CF.
